What is LED Phototherapy?

Dermalux LED Phototherapy is based on the principle that living cells are able to absorb and are influenced by light.

Light has many positive effects on our bodies; it helps us produce vitamin D, stimulates collagen production, promotes wellbeing and makes our skin glow!

Phototherapy occurs naturally all around us; our cells absorb and are influenced by light. Different wavelengths of light stimulate different responses in the skin. We know that ongoing exposure to UV light is very damaging but controlled levels of Red, Blue and Near Infrared light are clinically proven to be beneficial.

Each treatment lasts about 20 minutes. It involves exposing the skin to low levels of beneficial light energy from the visible and infrared part of the light spectrum which energises cellular functions to stimulate various cellular processes with therapeutic effects. It is a natural response similar to that of plant photosynthesis through a process known as photobiomodulation. And with no downtime, you can simply get up and glow! Dermalux Blue Light has powerful antibacterial properties and offers effective treatment for all grades of acne without irritation. It also helps to reduce sebum production and improve skin clarity. Applied in combination with red and near infrared light, the Tri-Wave treatment is excellent as a post treatment procedure to guard against infection, reduce inflammation and accelerate healing.

Dermalux Red Light

Dermalux Near Infrared Light works synergistically with red light for optimum rejuvenation results. It is the most deeply absorbed wavelength targeting the inflammatory process cells to accelerate tissue healing and reduce scarring. NIR has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect building strength and integrity for sensitive conditions such as acne, rosacea and psoriasis. It is also clinically proven in the treatment of hyperpigmentation where patches of skin become darker in colour than the normal surrounding skin.
